Basic Types of Sports Wagering

8:32 PM

Straight

The most common type of sports wager is on the result of a single game, known as a straight wager. One team is typically favored over another by a pointspread; the favorite gives the underdog points as a head start, for betting purposes only. The favorite is always indicated by a minus sign (-3) and the underdog by a plus sign (+3). The amount of points a customer must give or take is estimated to be the amount which will generate equal wagering on both the underdog and the favorite. For betting purposes, the result of the game is determined by taking the actual score and subtracting points from the favorite`s score or adding points to the underdog`s score. So, a favorite can win the game but lose it for betting purposes and an underdog can lose the game but win it for betting purposes.
Totals

A customer can also bet whether the combined number of points or goals scored by the two teams in the game will be over or under the total set by the oddsmaker. For example, if the total is 42 and you believe that the combined points scored by the two teams will exceed that number, you would bet over. You would bet under if you believe the total points score will be less than 42.
Money Line

A bet on a matchup between two teams may be set by a money line instead of a pointspread. If a matchup is determined by a money line, like Major League Baseball, then it will cost the customer more to wager on the favorite. For example, the Atlanta Braves are a -150 favorite over the Chicago Cubs. In this example, the customer must lay $150 in order to win $100. If Atlanta loses, the customer loses $150. However, the customer could bet on Chicago, in which case the customer would lay $100 in order to win $140 (10 cent line). If Chicago loses, the customer only loses $100, and if Chicago wins, the customer would win $140.

Backgammon Chouette

8:29 PM

A chouette is a fun, social, multi-player form of backgammon. It can be a tremendous amount of fun, with lots of cube turns, players taking different points of view, getting to rotate and play as a teammate of another player one game and against him the next.

However, if it’s not done right, especially online, it can get boring quickly. This page will give you an outline of what a chouette is and how to play. I strongly suggest that you print this out and keep it to refer to while playing.

One player – the “box” – plays against a team. One member of the team is the “Captain.” This all takes place on one board. The Captain has final say over all checker plays, although he can ask his teammates for help in some situations. However, each player has his own doubling cube. He can double regardless of what his teammates do, and he can take or drop if doubled on his own.
A chouette is played just like a money game. There is no “match score” – you play one game, win or lose points, then go on to the next game. Positions change every game. In general, if the box wins, he stays as the box; if the Captain wins he becomes the box. Whether the Captain wins or loses, the next player in line becomes the Captain.

The scoring is just points won or lost. Each player has a running score, of plus or minus a certain number of points, or even. If you were playing for money, you would multiply this by the stakes, and that’s how many dollars ahead or behind you would be. Naturally, the sum of all the scores is always zero.

Online chouettes can be somewhat awkward to run. There is no special software on the Zone for chouettes. What is required is someone to run the chouette who understands a chouette, whom I call a monitor. The monitor keeps track of the position of all cubes, and tallies the running score. When a chouette gets large, it gets to be a lot of work.

I have listed below everyone’s responsibilities. I know from experience that if everyone doesn’t follow these, it can really ruin things for everyone. Please print them out and read them, and then have them handy to refer to.

A chouette can be an awful lot of fun. For the team, there is the opportunity to gang up on one helpless victim (the box), to consult on checker plays, to show how much smarter you are than the others by, say, dropping a double and losing one point when everyone else goes on to lose a doubled gammon – or by taking and winning two points when most of your teammates dropped and lost one. There is the excitement of being the box and winning or losing 5 or 10 or 20 points at a time – I once saw, I think, the box win 80 points in a single game in an online chouette (two cubes at 16, two at 8, and he won a gammon).

Tournament Backgammon

8:28 PM

Tournament play has undoubtedly helped increase the popularity of backgammon everywhere it`s played. With prizes and cash incentives and head-to-head competition in the spotlight, the game has transformed from its position in the elite private clubs of gentlemen, and led to a worldwide craze of competition. Both the player and the spectator are drawn to these tournaments for the drama, intrigue, and spectacle that they produce.

Due to the relatively quick pace and short duration of most matches, backgammon is well-adapted for tournament play. The versatility of the game makes it very easy to orchestrate large tournaments with dozens, if not hundreds, of entrants.

This section is designed with the aim of helping you not only improve your competitive game, but also to illustrate what it takes to organize and run a successful tournament.
Elimination Tournaments

Similar to individual sports such as tennis, squash, and golf, elimination tournaments are best suited for brackets of 16, 32, 64, 96, 128, 192, or 256 players. Remember though that it is much better to have a few less rather than a few more players in these situations.

Top-seeded or highly-regarded players can be, and normally are, given "byes" in the opening rounds. The placement of players can be done randomly, or by some predetermined ranking system. If a player wins his match, he goes on to the next round, and so on and so forth until the winner from the left side of the draw meets the winner from the right side of the draw in the finals.

Depending on time constraints, matches must a have a fixed number of games which determine the winner. As you progress to the later rounds, the number of games in a match usually goes up. For example, the 1st round may feature a 5-point match, in which the 1st player to win three or more points wins the round. The final round may be a 7- or 9-point affair. You must keep in mind the doubling cube is almost always employed in tournament play, so reaching these point totals usually doesn`t require much time.

Round-Robin Tournaments

This type of tournament can be played by any number of players, but is best suited for smaller competitions with an uneven number of contestants. Typically, a player competes in a short match (to 3 points, for example) with each entrant. The player`s name and point total is then recorded on a board for all to see, and the player with the highest number of points is declared the winner. In this type of tournament, the doubling cube is rarely used.

Tournament play is usually taken more seriously. Participating players must keep in mind that backgammon is a social game and good sportsmanship must be maintained at all times. A general list of tournament rules and regulations should be made available for all players and distributed at the time of registration and set-up.

While any such list would most likely be far more extensive, here are a few of the key points that should certainly be posted and emphasized:

* All entrants are subject to approval by the tournament committee.
* If dispute arises, all checkers will be left as they are until a judge can be called forth to make a
decision.
* Scoring: Both players should keep score. This rule however is not enforced if both players verbally agree that only one shall keep score.
* In any dispute, the ruling made by the judge or tournament committee is final and uncontestable.

Backgammon Strategy

8:26 PM

Backgammon has an established opening theory, although it is less detailed than that of games like chess. The tree of checker positions expands quickly because of the number of possible dice rolls and the moves available on each turn. Recent computer analysis has offered more insight on opening moves, but the midgame is reached quickly. After the opening moves, backgammon players frequently rely on some established general strategies, and will combine and switch among them to adapt to changing conditions as a game unfolds.

The most direct and sometimes the most successful strategy is simply to avoid being hit, trapped, or getting into mutually blocked stand-offs. The running game describes a strategy of moving as quickly as possible around the board, and is most successful when a player is already ahead in the race.
A holding game is a strategy wherein a player keeps a point high in his opponent`s board or on his opponent`s bar point, as the game progresses. The player may gain an advantage by hitting an opponent`s blot from the held point, or by rolling large doubles that allow the player to advance both checkers and begin a running game.[20]

The priming game involves building a wall of checkers, called a prime, ideally covering six consecutive points. This obstructs opposing checkers that are behind the blockade. The prime is usually built somewhere between the 11-point and the 2-point, and then shuffled into the home board as the game progresses.[20][21]

A blitz describes a strategy of closing the home board as quickly as possible while keeping one`s opponent on the bar. Because the opponent has difficulty re-entering from the bar or escaping, a player can quickly gain a running advantage and win the game.[14]

A backgame is a strategy of placing two or more anchors (points with two or more checkers) in one`s opponent`s home board, while building a prime in one`s own home board. The anchors obstruct the opponent`s checkers, and create opportunities to hit them as they move toward the home board. The backgame is generally used only to salvage a game wherein a player is already significantly behind; using a backgame as an initial strategy is usually unsuccessful.

Baccarat Banque

8:25 PM

This variation is not especially popular but it can still be found in some European casinos today. In most Baccarat versions, the player who wagered the most money becomes the banker; or the role of banker goes from player to player in a counterclockwise circle. In Baccarat en Banque, the house takes on the responsibility of banker, who is usually one of the casino workers. Because of this, it is possible for the players to make larger bets.

This variant of baccarat is played on two tables. There are two players in Banque baccarat. The dealer deals two hands and two cards for the banker. Thus, the players can make bets on two hands by placing their bets on the middle of the joined tables.
The rules of baccarat banque are very much similar to those of other baccarat games. According to the rules of baccarat banque, each player tries to collect hands, which would amount to nine or so points together. Here you should know the amount of points for each rank: aces cost one point; cards from 2 to 9 cost due to the nominal value; pictures and tens give zero points. As the rules of baccarat banque say, if the overall sum is ten or more, ten is subtracted from it and the remainder is the result of a round.

There are several options for a player, when it comes to the third card. If the very first hand collected from zero to five points, then the player receives the third card. If the banker collected from zero to four points, then he receives the third card, if he did more, he doesn`t get any. At last, if he collected five points, then the decision about drawing the third card is made depending on the player`s hands. There is the following payoff structure due to the rules of deux tableaux baccarat: a payout for a bet on a player is one to one, a payout for a bet on a banker is one to one minus 5 percent, and a payout for a bet on a tie is nine times your bet (or eight times).

Baccarat Hands

8:23 PM

In Baccarat there are two hands, the banker hand and the player hand. The cards come from baccarat shoe, a box that contains 6 or 8 shuffled decks of cards. You can make a bacarrat bet on either hand or the tie between the two. Also, in baccarat either baccarat hand can only have two or three cards per deal. When a bacarrat hand standsit means that the hand`s part in the game is finished. This is a very important property of Baccarat.
The winning side in baccarat is determined by the closing bacarrat score which is calculated in the following fashion:

* Tens and face cards count as zero
* Ace in Baccarat is worth one point
* 2 to 9 are worth their face values respectively
* The score of all baccarat cards is summed up. If the summary baccarat score exceeds nine (becomes two digits) then the first digit is discarded. For example, 9 + Ace = 0 points
* A game of Baccarat proceeds as follows:
* The baccarat table dealer deals two cards to both baccarat hands from the shoe.

If either baccarat hand has an initial baccarat score of 8 or 9 it is called a natural. In such case, both hands stand. The final score determines the winner or a tie. The game ends and the baccarat player proceeds to recovering bets.

If the game proceeds , first the baccarat player hand and then the banker hand must play out by the following rules:

If the baccarat player`s first two cards total to less than six, the player must draw another (last card) from the shoe. The player then stands.

If the banker`s first two cards total to more than six the banker must stand and expose. If the initial score is 0, 1 or 2 the banker must draw the last card from the shoe. If it is 3 and the player`s third card is 0 to 9 points, the banker draws the third card. If it is 4 and the player`s third card is 2 to 7 points, the banker draws the third card. If it is 5 and the player`s third card is 4 to 7 points, the banker draws the third card. Otherwise, the banker stands and the game ends.

If both hands acquire equal score, the game is called a tie and the tie bet wins. Otherwise the bet on the hand that receives score closest to 9 wins.

Bets are recovered. If the winning bet is the player or the banker it recovers even money: that is, the bet itself and a win that amounts to the bet. However, if the winning side is the banker baccarat hand the online casino will comission 4% or 5% called vygorish. If the winning bet is the tie then neither the baccarat banker nor the player bets are neither paid nor taken. The tie bet in baccarat is paid 8 or 9 to one.

Punto Banco Baccarat Online

8:21 PM

Baccarat is called Punto Banco in many casinos in North America, South America and Europe. "Punto" means "Player", while "Banco" means "Bank", in reference to the two principal bets of the game. Punto Baccarat is played with three casino dealers and upto 12 or 14 players. There are two principal bets to make - banker or player.
# If the total of your two cards is 0-5 you must draw another card.
# If your total is 6-7 you must stand, punto banco rules doesn`t allow you to draw another card.
# If your total is 9 you win (less the dealer has a total of 9 as well). A total of eight dictates the same according to punto banco rules.
# The winner of punto banco is the one with the highest hand total.
# The banker`s rules of hitting and standing are a little more complicated, that is due to preserve the house edge, which is quite low in internet punto banco tables.
# When the Banks total is 0-2 he must take a third card.
# When the banks total in punto banco is 3 he must take another card less the player`s total is eight.
# When the banks total is 4 he must hit less the player`s third card is - 8-10 or 1.
# When the banks total is 5 he must hit if the player`s third card is 4-7, otherwise he stands.
# If the banker`s total is 6 then he must only hit when the player`s third card is 6-7.
# When the banker`s hand`s total is 7 he always stands.

The croupier will deal the cards according to the tableau and the croupier will announce the winning hand - either `Player` or `Banker`. Losing bets will be collected and the winning bets will be paid according to the rules of the house. Usually even money or 1-1 will be paid to the player and 95% to the `Banker`, 5% commission to the house. (Commission Baccarat) Some casinos pay even money or 1-1 to both `Player` and `Banker` except when the `Banker` wins with a total of 6. Then the `Banker` will be paid 50% or half the original bet.

Calculation of Baccarat Odds
Because of this, in any calculation of Baccarat house edge, the Tie bet can be effectively disregarded. Were it not for the vigorish (commission), the probability of winning on Banker would be over 1 in 2 ie better than a coin toss. Even allowing for the vigorish, the house edge on the Banker bet is just over 1%.

The Player bet has a slightly higher house edge, usually around 1.25%. But there is no vigorish, so nothing is deducted from your winnings.

Even so, with such a low house edge, the Banker bet is the safest Punto Banco bet in the long run.

Some Baccarat players find that betting on the Banker seems somehow unnatural, as though they`re betting against themself. This probably comes from playing Blackjack, where the player is always trying to beat the Banker.

Remember, in Punto Banco or Baccarat, the winner is the one who predicts the winning hand, not the one who plays it.

Punto Banco Strategy

When you are winning, the bets progress as follows:

Bet 1 is 1 unit, Bet 2 is 3 units, Bet 3 is 2 units and Bet 4 is 4 units.

Whenever you lose, you revert back to Bet 1.

If your first bet loses, your loss is 1 unit.
If the second loses, your loss is 2.05 units.
If the third loses, you make a profit of 1.8 units (with the vigorish).
If the fourth loses, you make a profit of 1.7 units.

If the fourth wins, your overall profit is 9.5 units.

The advantage of this Punto Banco system is that you risk 2.05 units with a chance of making 9.5 profit. In other words, you can have four losing sequences and get your money back with one winning run.

What is Baccarat?

8:20 PM

Baccarat is a relatively basic and easy card game where participants place bets and watch the action unfold. Different from Blackjack, players in baccarat are not required to make decisions during the game, but only before the hand is dealt. Players can bet on the side of the house, the player, or for a tie.

The object of the game is to bet for the side whose cards have a point total closest to 9. Point totals are calculated in the following way:

* aces count as 1
* cards 2 through 9 count at face value, a
* 10 as well as all face cards count as 0.

However, it`s important to note that if you`re dealt a 9 and a 7, for example, the total is not 16, but 6. If you`re dealt a 3 and an 8, the total is not 11, but 1. In other words, it`s impossible to have a combination of cards that totals more than 9.

In Baccarat, the dealer deals 4 cards, 2 each for the house and player. If the point total of either or both sides is 8 or 9, it`s called `a natural` and no more cards are dealt. If the point total of both sides is the same, of course, it`s a tie. The only complication in Baccarat is when the house or the player`s points, after the initial two cards, don`t add up to a natural, or when there is no tie. In this case, one additional card will be dealt according to specific rules as described below.

If the player`s initial hand adds up to 6 or more, he must stand and will not be dealt additional cards. For 5 or less, the player will be dealt an additional card. If the house hand, meanwhile, adds up to 7 or more, the house must stand. If the house total adds up to 0, 1 or 2, the house must take an additional card.

If the house hand totals 3, and the player`s third card is anything other than 8 (in Baccarat, the player receives his cards before the house), the house will hit. If the house hand totals 4, and the player`s third card is anything other than 1, 8, 9, or 0, the house will hit. If the house hand totals 5, and the player is dealt a 4, 5, 6, or 7, the house will hit. And if the house hand totals 6, and the player`s third card is 6 or 7, the house will hit.

Payoffs in Baccarat are very straightforward. If you bet on a winning player`s hand, you`ll be paid at 1 to 1. If you bet on a winning house hand, you`ll also be paid at 1 to 1. If you bet on a tie, the payoff is 8 to 1. Online Baccarat tables usually have a minimum bet of $1 and a maximum bet of $250. Check with your online casino for particular ranges and percentages.

Baccarat Strategy

8:16 PM

A reliable baccarat strategy is generally considered a falsehood among gamblers. Although you may often hear people asserting that they have devised the `perfect` strategy, Baccarat is essentially a game of chance and there is relatively little the player can do strategically to improve the odds.

However, that does not mean that there is no point thinking about the game. There are several central things to remember when playing baccarat that will help you to make correct decisions and play more intelligently; and therefore, increase your chances of success.
Baccarat is a pure game of chance; all things being equal, systems do not generally work with baccarat. The term "baccarat strategy" is oxymoronic. When systems work, there is no mathematical basis for the outcome. It’s a matter of pure luck. You won’t find the card counters flocking to the baccarat tables, because card counting is useless. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that as a player, your odds are best at the baccarat table. The house edge is little more than 1%, except on a tie bet.

Even though it cannot be proven that any system works with baccarat, there are several systems that players frequently use.

First of all, you can forget all the complicated systems you have ever heard of for winning. For goodness sakes, do not spend money on a system for winning Baccarat. There is absolutely no need. Forget counting cards or keeping notes of past outcomes. The payoffs for these energy consuming strategies are so low that they are nearly non-existent. The Martingale system of betting will also not work toward your benefit. You will quickly hit the casino`s maximum bet, or run out of money, so forget it too. Instead, only employ strategies that allow you to truly maximize your time at the table and the final amount of cash you walk away with.

To start with, be sure you are playing with the lowest possible number of decks. Some casinos play with 6 decks, others with 8, and a few high stakes table will even offer just one deck games. The odds are very slightly less toward the house the fewer decks in the game. Though the difference is small, it should not be ignored.

Baccarat Tips and Tricks

8:15 PM

Bacccarat Provide some Tips and Tricks for Player These are :-

(1) There are normally eight decks of cards in a game of Baccarat. You have a better advantage of winning through the banker`s hand if the game is with lesser number of card decks.

(2) Baccarat offers three options for betting-Banker`s hand, player`s hand, and tie. Banker`s and player`s hand offer almost similar house edge and betting on either can bring similar winnings.
(3) Occurrence of a tie in a game of baccarat is very remote. However, you get back your initial bet amounts in case of a tie. However, if any player bets on a tie, you cannot get back your bet amount.

(4) Betting on a tie as the outcome of a baccarat game is very rare as house odds for a tie are as high as 14%. Hence, if you bet on a tie as the result, and if it is so, you have to pay 14% of your winnings to the casino.

(5) House edge for the banker`s hand is 1.09% and casinos charge an extra 5% as taxes or commissions for winnings on this hand. Even then, you stand to gain by betting on the banker`s hand as the outcome of a baccarat game.

(6) House edge for the player`s hand is 1.24%. Hence, you pay the equivalent percentage of your winnings from the player`s hand to the casino.

(7) There is no set pattern for the outcomes of any baccarat game. Baccarat is a game of chance and you cannot bet on any eventuality as the sure outcome of the next round of play.

(8) Have a clear and through understanding and knowledge of the game rules of Baccarat to be aware of any mistakes by any player or dealer in a game.

(9) Dealer burns that many cards as the number that appears on the face up card on the baccarat table.

(10) Player receives the first and third dealt cards while banker receives the second and fourth dealt cards.

(11) You take only the last of the two-digit card totals. If total of your cards is 12, it is only two.

(12) If the total of the initially dealt cards is eight or nine, the player or the banker automatically wins and it is a natural hand. This becomes a tie situation only if two hands have the similar occurrence.

(13) Only a natural nine can beat a natural eight hand.

(14) You need to draw if your card total is less than six or seven.

(15) Bank always draws on a total from zero to two. Card total of three makes the bank draw only if the player draws a third card of eight. If the player`s third card is an eight, nine or an Ace, Banker can draw on card total of four.

(16) A third card between four and seven with the player can help the bank draw on a total of five. Bank stands on a total of six if player has a third card of either six or seven only.

Blackjack Rules

8:13 PM

In the game of Blackjack, there is one dealer and usually between 1 and 4 players. Before the dealer starts dealing, players are to place bets. Generally speaking, bets usually go from a $1 minimum to a $500 maximum blackjack, and the online casino you choose will clearly display what its minimum bets and maximum bets are.

Players can place bets by using any of the chip denominations available. When all players have placed their bets and chosen the `Deal` option, the game begins. It is not possible to change bets after the game has begun. However, players can increase their bets by choosing options such as double down, splits, or insurance.
Each player will receive 2 cards: one face up and one face down. The aim of the game is to reach the number 21, or to be closer to 21 than the dealer, who is also a player. Players can opt to receive as many cards as they desire (commonly called "hit"), or they can choose to "stand", or receive no more cards. Blackjack itself is reached in the event of a player being dealt a 10 or a face card with an ace. Following a Blackjack, the player gets paid 1.5 times his original bet. However, it is also possible for the dealer to have Blackjack. In that case, a tie situation occurs between the player and the dealer, the dealer then becomes a "push," and the player gets his bet back. Another important rule to bear in mind is that dealers are required to hit when they have 16 or less, and will stop when they have 17 or more. If the dealer decides to push, all players around the table are paid.

Double down - you may double your bet during a game of Blackjack, but only after you`ve been dealt two cards. If you choose to double down, one more card will be dealt to you. However, one cannot hit again after deciding to double down.

Split - splitting offers the option of breaking one hand of cards into two hands. It therefore gives you the chance to win (or lose) twice in the same game. Aces exempt, if you are dealt any pair of cards, you can choose to split the cards into two hands. This will place a second bet equal in amount to the first, and also allow you to play both hands on an individual basis. Once you have split your hand into two hands, you may take as many hits on each hand as you want. If a pair of aces is dealt to you, you are subsequently not ineligible anymore for Blackjack, and can only therefore get a "normal" 21. If the dealer has Blackjack, he wins, but if he reaches 21, it`s a push.

Insurance - if the deal shows an ace, you can opt to "insure yourself", in the case that the dealer has a 10 or a face card concealed. If indeed the dealer`s card is a 10 or a face card, you get your insurance bet back, and get paid at 2-1 odds. However, if the dealer has a card that`s not a 10 or a face card, you lose your insurance bet.

Blackjack Variants

8:09 PM

Spanish 21 provides players with many liberal blackjack rules, such as doubling down any number of cards (with the option to `rescue`, or surrender only one wager to the house), payout bonuses for five or more card 21`s, 6-7-8 21`s, 7-7-7 21`s, late surrender, and player blackjacks always winning and player 21`s always winning, at the cost of having no 10 cards in the deck (though there are jacks, queens, and kings). While most variations of Spanish 21 have a higher house edge than "standard" Blackjack. However, using a basic strategy specifically designed for Spanish 21, as opposed to regular Blackjack basic strategy, can result in a Spanish 21 game with a lower house edge than Blackjack. Another casino game similar to blackjack is Pontoon.
Certain rules changes are employed to create new variant games. These changes, while attracting the novice player, actually increase the house edge in these games. Double Exposure Blackjack is a variant in which the dealer`s cards are both face-up. This game increases house edge by paying even money on blackjacks and players losing ties. Double Attack Blackjack has very liberal blackjack rules and the option of increasing one`s wager after seeing the dealer`s up card. This game is dealt from a Spanish shoe, and blackjacks only pay even money.

The French and German variant "Vingt-et-un" (Twenty-one) and "Siebzehn und Vier" (Seventeen and Four) don`t include splitting. An ace can only count as eleven, but two aces count as a Blackjack. This variant is seldom found in casinos, but in private circles and barracks.

Chinese Blackjack is played by many in Asia, having no splitting of cards, but with other card combination regulations.

Another variant is Blackjack Switch, a version of blackjack in which a player is dealt two hands and is allowed to switch cards. For example, if the player is dealt 10-6 and 10-5, then the player can switch two cards to make hands of 10-10 and 6-5. Natural blackjacks are paid 1:1 instead of the standard 3:2, and a dealer 22 is a push.

Always Bet the Max at Progressives and Bonus Multipliers

8:03 PM

In order to be eligible for the large progressive jackpot, a player will be required to bet the maximum amount on all the paylines at once. Please do not confuse this with the "Bet One" button many online slots include with their machines. This button is simply a way of betting a single wager over (usually up to five times) on a single spin. The progressive jackpot, however, does not require multiple bets, but does require the maximum wager amount to be bet on each payline for a single spin. The same holds true for bonus multipliers, which are options on straight slots that pay bonuses when particular reel combos are hit. These bonuses are usually generous, and if offered, should be played for every time. The maximum wager on all paylines must be bet for the multiplier to be activated. If one of these is hit, all prior losses will generally be recovered - with some profit left remaining. Remember, when determining your gambling expectations, if you are going for large winnings, always bet the maximum on progressives and multipliers.

Know the Payout Table Back and Forth

8:03 PM

Some online slots will post the payout table alongside the playing screen, while others require the player to click on a tab that says "Payout Table". Since the latter can be more frustrating, (having to click back and forth between the two) it is advisable to copy the payout table on a scratch sheet of paper. And although the casino software will inform the player of any winnings (usually by highlighting the exact combo on the table or running a line through the matching symbols (for multi-line machines), it is still a safe move to have a copy of the payout table for reference at all times. This especially holds true for multi-spin slots, which let players place a free initial spin, with options of putting symbols on Hold for the final spin. If there was an excellent time to incorporate strategy at a slot game, this would be it. For instance, if a player hits a "Wild card" symbol on the free spin, it would be foolish to not put it on Hold. And by knowing the payout table, a player will know which symbols and in what combinations should be put on Hold for a multi-spin slot machine.

Always Practice and Get to Know Your Slot Machine

8:00 PM

After picking the right online casino and determining what type of slot machine to play, a player should be familiar with all the casino games and slot machines. Remember that online casinos will permit players to play free Flash versions of their games with fake practice money. This is a highly recommended practice. One: A player knows if the casino software is enjoyable to play or not; And two: They will have narrowed down the potential slot machines worth playing.
If the player has not already determined what their playing expectations are as stated in Rule #1, now would be a good time to. For instance, if the player knows they are looking for a game to play for an indefinite length of time and with a small bankroll, this automatically rules out any large progressive jackpots with $2 payline minimums. Also included in the practice of the machine, a player should become familiar with the payout table. This is important - hence the basis for Tip #3.

Know Your Slot Gambling Expectations

7:55 PM

As was just mentioned, knowing what you want out of a slot machine is the first thing a player should determine. If it is a large jackpot, the player should play a progressive slot. And, depending on one`s bankroll size, should pick a progressive jackpot correspondingly. For players searching to hold out at the machine as long as possible, (for the longer one can hold out, the more chances they will have at the jackpot), a player should ponder the betting requirements of the machine. If the machine requires a large minimum wager, the player may want to consider playing a progressive one size down - And although will not be playing for as large a jackpot, will, none the less, be playing for a large sum of money while not putting too large a dent in their bankroll. (Remember, in order to be eligible for the jackpot, a player must put down the maximum wager for each payline). For players looking to double a small bankroll, they should consider playing a single line machine with smaller betting limits. Although many advise to always bet the maximum amount at a slot, for straight machines this is not as important (unless a bonus multiplier is in the equation, as described in Tip #4) A safe strategy is to play $0.25 bets at a machine with a single payline offering maximum winnings of $250. With a $100 bankroll, $0.25 bets will last a while, in hopes that the reels will match up to payout the $250.
